Damon's Crossing was a post office in the Town of Victory with a scarcity rating of "7" in the 2006 VPS DPO Guide. "7" equals "rare" in the guide with a value of $100 to $300. In the May 1962 Vermont Philatelist, editor George Slawson showed an example dated Septmber 23, 1884 and wrote "When one considers Vermont killers, there seems to be no especial argument that the fanciest of the fancy was the first one put in use at Damon's Crossing (Essex County) by the postoffice's only postmaster, Elizabeth Damon (April 4, 1884 - March 20, 1896). This postmark was almost impossible to clean, and as soon as ink filled in the fine lines it degenerated into a meaningless blob, which resulted in its being discarded after a comparatively short usage."
